Vol. 397 No. 1

Written Answers. - County Tipperary Road.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

94 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for the Environment the plans, if any, he has for improving the Cashel-Tipperary road; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The 1990 road grants which I have allocated to Tipperary (South Riding) County Council include a grant of £60,000 for junction improvements on the N74 Cashel-Tipperary road.

At present, there are no proposals before my Department for major improvements to this road. The development of any such proposals is primarily a matter for the local authority.

In the event of proposals for major improvements to the Cashel-Tipperary road being received in the Department, the question of road grant funding will be considered.
