46 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the action he is taking, in his capacity as President of the Council of Farm Ministers, to promote the development of agriculture in the Third World; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The promotion of agriculture and rural development in the Third World forms part of the European Community's policy on development co-operation which comes within the ambit of the general affairs and development councils.
