28 Mr. M. Higgins asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of petrol retail outlets owned by the multinational petrol distribution companies; and the number owned by Irish owned companies in (a) Ireland and (b) Dublin.
Of the 3,180 petrol stations in the country the number of retail outlets owned by the multinational petrol distribution companies in Ireland at the 31 December 1988 was 382. The corresponding number of petrol retail outlets owned by Irish owned companies in Ireland was 65.
Details of the number of petrol retail outlets owned by the multinational distribution companies and Irish owned companies in Dublin are not available.
