Vol. 397 No. 9

Written Answers. - Provision of Artificial Limb.

Tony Gregory

Question:

293 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Health if arrangements will be made urgently to have a person (details supplied) in Dublin 7 examined and supplied with a new artificial leg as the one he has at present supplied by the Eastern Health Board is causing severe pain and discomfort and needs to be replaced by a lighter type.

It is understood from the Eastern Health Board that the person in question has not made any application to the board recently for a replacement limb. In order for such an application to be considered the person should submit a medical recommendation (indicating his medical card number), together with an estimate of cost from an appropriate supplier, to the Director of Community Care, Community Care Area 6 Eastern Health Board, Rathdown Road, Dublin 7 and the matter will be given immediate attention.
