359 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Education if examinations are being held on 14 June 1990, which is a church holiday, as part of the certificate examinations; and if this is the first occasion upon which examinations took place on a church holiday.

Examinations at leaving, intermediate and day vocational level are time tabled for Thursday, 14 June this year. This is the first occasion that this has happened. This decision was taken in order to avoid the examinations running over into a fourth week.
