Vol. 397 No. 10

Written Answers. - Kilcullen (County Kildare) By-Pass.

Seán Power

Question:

38 Mr. Power asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve the tender at present in his Department to enable work to proceed on the Kilcullen by-pass.

There are no tender proposals currently under consideration for Kilcullen by-pass.

The local authority, Kildare County Council, have forwarded for examination draft contract documents for the road works element of contract No. 3 of the Newbridge by-pass and Kilcullen by-pass scheme. Contract No. 3 will include the construction of the Kilcullen by-pass. The draft contract documents are at present being discussed with the local authority, at engineering level. I understand that Kildare County Council expect to be in a position to submit the final set of contract documents for contract No. 3 for approval in July next.
