Written Answers. - Blanchardstown (Dublin) Garda Strength.

Jim Mitchell

Question:

73 Mr. J. Mitchell asked the Minister for Justice, in respect of Blanchardstown Garda Station, Dublin 15, if he will give for the years (a) 1980, (b) 1985 and (c) 1990 the total estimated population covered by the Garda station and the total number of gardaí assigned thereto; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The particulars sought by the Deputy are set out in the following table.

The detailed allocation of manpower to individual stations is a matter for the Garda authorities, who advise that population levels are only one of the elements taken into account in determining station strengths.
