84 Mr. Ellis asked the Minister for the Environment the reason he failed to sanction the amount of a disabled person's grant allocated by Leitrim County Council to persons (details supplied) in County Leitrim; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The scheme of grants to disabled persons is administered entirely by local authorities. My Department recoup to the authorities a proportion of the expenditure incurred in the payment of individual grants. The amount of the recoupment claimed in this case will be paid as soon as possible.
