50 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Education the present position regarding the proposed second level school for Ashbourne, County Meath; the stages of the planning process which have been completed; when it is intended to move on to the next stage; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
As I indicated when I met a deputation regarding this project on 27 February 1990, I am committed to proceeding with the next stage of planning as soon as possible and I will ensure that there is no undue delay.
The architectural planning of the proposed new post-primary school for Ashbourne, County Meath, has reached the developed sketch scheme stage, Stage 3 of my Department's design team procedures. The submission from the design team on this stage is currently being examined by my Department. When this is approved the design team will be asked to proceed with Stage 4 which is the detailed design.
