Vol. 398 No. 2

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

Michael Creed

Question:

86 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when an application for a headage grant will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Cork; the date the application was made; the reason for the delay; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

This applicant has already received a 70 per cent advance payment under the 1989 cattle and equines headage scheme.

Payments covering the balance due under that scheme and the full amounts due to him under the 1989 calf, suckler cow and special beef premium schemes are being processed and will issue shortly.

The date of application for cattle grants by the person named under the cattle and equines headage and premium schemes mentioned above was 16 July 1989.

The delay in payment arose because the local livestock office were awaiting the submission of mart documents for animals sold in respect of which grants were claimed.
