Vol. 398 No. 2

Written Answers. - County Limerick School Project.

Michael Noonan

Question:

108 Mr. Noonan (Limerick East) asked the Minister for Education if satisfactory arrangements have been made to enable a school (details supplied) in County Limerick to be built; when tenders will be sought; when work will be completed; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

I have agreed that a new building be erected for the school in Limerick referred to by the Deputy. It is intended that a clinic be provided in conjunction with the school building project.

The working party representing my Department and the Department of Health have met on a number of occasions and, as a result, the preparation of a sketch plan for the project is in hands. This will be completed at the earliest possible date and sent to the school authorities to enable them to seek local authority planning permission. Until satisfactory planning permission has been received it will not be possible to put the preparation of tender documents in hands.
