Vol. 398 No. 4

Written Answers. - Advisory Council for English Language Schools.

Patrick McCartan

Question:

149 Mr. McCartan asked the Minister for Education, in relation to the membership of the Advisory Council for English Language Schools, if she will indicate (i) their names, (ii) the date of appointment, (iii) the term of office and (iv) the expertise of each member relevant to the work of the council.

The council comprises four members, representative of each of the following: the Department of Education, the Department of Foreign Affairs Bord Fáilte Eireann and Dublin tourism.

I do not consider it appropriate to give the names of the individual representatives. The representatives of the Department of Education serves as chairman of the council. The term of office of each member is at the discretion of the body he or she represents. All members have considerable expertise in areas relevant to the work of the council.
