Question:

63 Mr. Taylor asked the Minister for Finance the present position regarding a tax rebate due to a person (details supplied) in County Dublin; the amount and in respect of which year the tax rebate relates; and when payment will be made.

I have been advised by the Revenue Commissioners that the taxpayer's income tax liability for 1989-90 was finalised on 3 April 1990 and an overpayment of £286.98 arose. A cheque in settlement was issued to him on 19 April 1990.
