42 Mrs. Owen asked the Minister for the Marine if he has received any applications for assistance from fishermen in Skerries, County Dublin, to offset the losses occasioned by their inability to fish for long periods as a result of last winter's exceptional storms; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

My Department has not received to date any request for assistance in respect of this matter from fishermen in Skerries. I would, however, point out to the Deputy that there are no funds available to my Department for this purpose.
