Question:

55 Mr. Stafford asked the Minister for the Environment the number of fatalities which have occurred involving private and commercial vehicles; if he will give a breakdown of such fatalities between private and commercial vehicles; and the number of persons seriously injured in these incidents.

Detailed information in relation to all road accidents is contained in the annual Road Accident Facts report published by the Environmental Research Unit, the most recent edition of which covers the year 1988.
