Vol. 401 No. 6

Written Answers. - CFC Recovery.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

168 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment the review which has taken place of developments in relation to the recovery of CFCs from foam.

My Department is keeping developments in relation to the recovery of CFC from foam under continuous review. The information available to date indicates that it is not economically feasible to recover CFCs from that source but any option which becomes feasible in this regard will be pursued without delay.

Eamon Gilmore

Question:

169 Mr. Gilmore asked the Minister for the Environment , in view of the fact that the £50,000 which was made available for the recovery and recycling of CFCs has now been expended, if he will outline the locations which exist in this country for the recovery and recycling of CFCs with specific reference to those used as coolants for refrigeration purposes.

I would refer the Deputy to the reply to Questions Nos. 66 and 186 of 10 July 1990.
