Question:101 Mr. Lowry asked the Minister for Finance the reason for the delay in issuing a VAT refund to a person (details supplied) in County Tipperary.

I am advised by the Revenue Commissioners that after an audit by the inspector of taxes the amount payable in the case was reduced.
The fact that the claim required audit and also that claims requiring amendment are subject to additional processing delayed repayment.
A cheque for the reduced amount issued on 11 July 1990 to the person concerned.
