Vol. 402 No. 3

Written Answers. - Physiotherapist Appointment.

Paul Bradford

Question:

122 Mr. Bradford asked the Minister for Health when a physiotherapist will be appointed to Fermoy District Hospital, County Cork.

The post concerned is a part-time physiotherapist post attached to Fermoy District Hospital. The Southern Health Board have already interviewed for this post but were unsuccessful in their efforts to recruit a qualified and suitable candidate. The board are at present considering moves to fill the post in conjunction with on-going arrangements for the recruitment of community based physiotherapists. Should this arrangement not prove feasible, the board will advertise the post again at an early date. Meanwhile, physiotherapy services to those in the locality are being provided in Mallow General Hospital and Cork Regional Hospital.
