Vol. 402 No. 5

Written Answers. - Establishment of Garda Station at Donaghmede.

Michael Joe Cosgrave

Question:

128 Mr. Cosgrave asked the Minister for Justice if, in view of the increase in crime and vandalism generally, he will, as a matter of urgency, establish a Garda station in the Donaghmede area of Dublin 13.

The Garda authorities inform me that the existing Garda office or "clinic" in Donaghmede is providing a satisfactory service to the local community and, in the circumstances, there are no proposals to change this arrangement. I am also informed that provisional figures for indictable crime in the Coolock Garda sub-district, for the first nine months of this year, show a significant reduction as compared with the corresponding period in 1989.
