Vol. 403 No. 5

Written Answers. - Milk Quotas.

Theresa Ahearn

Question:

58 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if he intends to introduce a subsidy for farmers with a milk quota under 12,000 gallons; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have provided that small scale producers receive specially favourable treatment in the distribution of any available milk quotas. In addition where co-responsibility levy is payable, they benefit from a reduction in the levy. I will continue to bear in mind the needs of small scale producers in any future arrangements to be made under the quota regime.
