Vol. 403 No. 5

Written Answers. - Castlecomer (Kilkenny) Bridge.

Phil Hogan

Question:

70 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for the Environment if he has received a proposal to construct a new bridge over the River Dinian at Castlecomer, County Kilkenny; if his attention has been drawn to the rapidly deteriorating condition of this particular bridge; when funds will be made available to construct a new bridge; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

On 29 November 1990, a consultant's report, commissioned by Kilkenny County Council, regarding the Castlecomer Bridge on the N78 was received in my Department.

This report is being considered and a reply will issue to the local authority as soon as possible.
