Question:

63 Mr. Stagg asked the Minister for Social Welfare the cost or estimated cost to the social insurance fund of exempting from the PRSI levy the first £3,250 income of a single person and the first £6,500 of a married couple's income.

It is estimated that the cost of exempting from employee PRSI contributions the first £3,250 of a single person's income and the first £6,500 of a married couple's income would be £160 million approximately.
