Vol. 403 No. 6

Written Answers. - County Laois Water Supply.

Tom Enright

Question:

67 Mr. Enright asked the Minister for the Environment if he has satisfied himself regarding the quality of the water supply in Rathdowney, County Laois; if his attention has been drawn to the fact that there have been some complaints about the supply; if he will have this matter investigated; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

Under the European Communities (Quality of Water Intended for Human Consumption) Regulations, 1988, it is a matter for the sanitary authority concerned, in this case Laois County Council, to determine whether drinking water supplied complied with specified quality standards.
