Vol. 403 No. 8

Written Answers. - Students' Loans Servicing.

Bernard Allen

Question:

100 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Finance if he intends introducing a tax relief on the repayment of privately negotiated student loans for students working in Ireland.

I have no plans to introduce such a relief. I would point out that students already benefit from the high level of State expenditure on education; in addition, some students are eligible for grants and some benefit from the availability of tax relief on covenants.
