Vol. 403 No. 8

Written Answers. - Hospital Pathologist's Report.

Nuala Fennell

Question:

178 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for Health if he will outline the regulations governing the production of a hospital pathologist's report; the action which can be taken to secure these reports for relatives of a deceased person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I would be concerned to ensure that there are no unnecessary delays in conveying information and reports to the relatives of deceased persons.

I understand that the post-morten report on the person concerned has not been completed as yet. The consultant involved in this case has already contacted the family and advised them that when the report is available it will be forwarded to them.
