Question:383 Mr. Byrne asked the Minister for Education the reason an organisation (details supplied) has never received grant assistance under the scheme of grant aid for sporting organisations.
Written Answers. - Grants to Sporting Organisations.
Under the grant-in-aid scheme for sport, grants are allocated to recognised national governing bodies of sport. The organisation in question is not regarded as a sporting organisation. Water safety and life-saving programmes come within the ambit of the National Safety Council which is funded by the Department of the Environment.
