53 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce when he expects to receive the final report from the Fair Trade Commission on the sale and distribution of motor fuels; and if he is considering the imposition of price control in this area.

The question of price control in this area has been addressed by the Fair Trade Commission in their report, which I received on 9 January 1990 and which is currently under consideration.

The House will be aware that price control already applies to certain petroleum products.
