Vol. 404 No. 6

Written Answers. - Wexford General Hospital.

Brendan Howlin

Question:

178 Mr. Howlin asked the Minister for Health when he expects the new surgical wing of Wexford General Hospital to be operational; and the amount of money allocated by his Department to equip it.

Arrangements for the commissioning of the Wexford General Hospital development are a matter for the South Eastern Health Board in the first instance. I understand from the board that the new facilities should be operational by late autumn 1991.

As the tendering process for the equipment requirements of the new development has not yet been completed it is not possible at this stage to indicate the total amount involved.
