Vol. 404 No. 9

Written Answers. - Grant Payments.

John Bruton

Question:

119 Mr. J. Bruton asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when grants under the beef subsidy scheme will be paid to a person (details supplied) in County Meath; when the application was received; and the reason for the delay in payment.

This applicant has already been paid his 1990 beef cow and equines headage scheme grant. His 1990 special beef premium scheme grant is being processed for payment and will issue shortly.

His beef cow and equines headage and special beef premium schemes applications were received in the local office of my Department on 10 June 1990 and 13 June 1990 respectively. His application under the EC suckler cow scheme for small scale milk producers — with quotas of less than 12,819 gallons — was received on 31 January 1991.

There was no particular delay in payment under any of the schemes.

Some 2,742 applications were received in County Meath under the 1990 special beef premium scheme and of these, 586 have been paid to date.
