Question:

169 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for the Environment whether there will be an amenity grants scheme operated from Cork city and county, as was the case in 1990; and, if so, whether all the applications made in 1990 will be grant aided in 1991.

Nuala Fennell

Question:

188 Mrs. Fennell asked the Minister for the Environment if he will approve an amenities scheme grant from proceeds of the national lottery, or another grant to the Dom Marmion Society, Dundrum, Dublin 14, for the purpose of erecting an old people's centre.

I propose to take Questions Nos. 162, 167, 169 and 188 together.

As indicated in my reply to Questions Nos. 290, 301, 311 and 329 of 30 January 1991, there will be a further amenities-recreational facilities grant scheme this year. In relation to applications which were unsuccessful under previous schemes, it will be open to project sponsors to lodge fresh applications under the new scheme. The detailed conditions of the scheme are being notified to local authorities.
