16 Mr. Kavanagh asked the Minister for Education if she will outline the proposals she has to provide substitute teachers for primary teachers who are availing of leave days in lieu of attendance at Department approved summer courses; and if she will make a statement on the matter.

The Primary Education Review Body has made recommendations in relation to the employment of substitute teachers as replacements for primary teachers who are availing of leave days in lieu of attendance at Department approved courses. These recommendations are being considered by my Department at present.
