Vol. 405 No. 2

Written Answers. - National Lottery Income.

Michael Creed

Question:

72 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Finance if he will outline the gross income from the national lottery in 1990; the net income for the same year; and the amount which he distributed to various Government Departments and other statutory bodies.

In 1990 the National Lottery Company had sales of £168,494,000. After payment of prizes and the administration costs of the company a surplus of £53,927,000 was transferred to the national lottery fund. A total of £56,169,300 was spent by Government Departments on lottery funded projects in 1990. This amount would include lottery moneys carried over from previous years.
