Vol. 405 No. 4

Written Answers. - Kilkenny County Clinic.

Phil Hogan

Question:

112 Mr. Hogan asked the Minister for Health when work will commence on the construction of an extension to the county clinic, James's Green, Kilkenny; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The South-Eastern Health Board have recently indicated to my Department that the provision of a major community care headquarters in Kilkenny is high on their list of priority health centre developments.

The Programme for Economic and Social Progress contains provision for an additional capital investment in the health services of £100 million over the course of the programme. Provision will be made within that amount to enable a major programme of health centre development to be completed over the seven year period.

The prioritising, timing and financing of the various projects, to be included in this programme, is at present being examined.
