Question:

129 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for Tourism, Transport and Communications if he will assess the financial vale of the Government's shareholding in Aer Lingus; and if he has any proposals to introduce employee shareholding options, or the sale of any shares in the company.

The value of the State's investment in Aer Lingus as shown in the latest published accounts for the financial year ended 31 March, 1990 was £442.23 million. There are no plans to introduce employee shareholding options or to sell any shares in the company.
