Vol. 405 No. 4

Written Answers. - Licensed Vehicles.

Ivan Yates

Question:

100 Mr. Yates asked the Minister for the Environment the number of licensed vehicles in the following categories for each year since 1985, inclusive (a), buses, (b) coaches, (c) taxis, (d) hackneys, (e) mini-buses of nine to 14 seats and (f) school buses.

The tabular statement following sets out the details requested. Coaches are not separately identified for vehicle licensing purposes and are included within the buses category. The information in the statement relates to vehicles in respect of which a current vehicle licence under the Finance (Excise Duties) (Vehicles) Act, 1952 was in force at 30 September in each year. It does not necessarily correspond with the total number of vehicles licensed under other statutes.
