Vol. 405 No. 5

Written Answers. - Allocation of Milk Quotas.

Michael Finucane

Question:

30 Mr. Finucane asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food when the milk quota appeals tribunal will decide on the allocation of extra quotas to hardship cases; the number of applications received; the number who have been considered eligible; and the total milk pool to be allocated.

The milk quota appeals tribunal, appointed by me to carry out the task of allocating the one million gallon reserve which I set aside for special hardship cases, received some 5,000 applications for additional quota. The number of applicants who have been allocated additional quota is 1,480.
