79 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food if EC beef vouchers are available to a person (details supplied) in County Kildare who is in receipt of invalidity pension; and if he will make a statement on the matter.
The quantity of beef available is strictly limited and thus it has been necessary to identify specific beneficiaries in consultation with the Department of Social Welfare.
The scheme this year is therefore restricted to: recipients of long term unemployment assistance, excluding smallholders; recipients of the pre-retirement allowance; recipients of long term supplementary welfare allowance; and FAS trainees who were in receipt of long term unemployment assistance immediately prior to commencing their FÁS courses.
