Vol. 406 No. 2

Written Answers. - Birmingham Six.

Dick Spring

Question:

50 Mr. Spring asked the Minister for Foreign Affairs if he will make representations to ensure adequate compensation for the Birmingham Six after their release from prison.

I would expect that the level of compensation offered will be fully commensurate with the injustice endured by the Birmingham Six over a sustained period. The Embassy in London, in consultation with the Six and their legal representatives, will be monitoring carefully all developments in relation to this important aspect of the case.
