Vol. 406 No. 2

Written Answers. - Killarney National Park Residences.

John O'Leary

Question:

53 Mr. O'Leary asked the Minister for Finance whether Office of Public Works houses in the National Park, Killarney, County Kerry are insured against fire with particular reference to the case of a person (details supplied); and if he will make a statement on the matter.

State-owned property is not, as a rule, insured against fire on the basis that the overall cost of premiums for insurance cover would almost certainly exceed the value of any claims payable. This is the position in relation to all residences occupied by employees in Killarney National Park, including the person to which the Deputy refers.
