54 Mr. Creed asked the Minister for Agriculture and Food the number of schemes operated by his Department for the distribution of additional quotas to (1) non-quota holders (2) small quota holders and (3) quota holders whose base year analysis was affected by circumstances outside their control.
Since the introduction of the quota system in April 1984, eight different schemes have been introduced by my Department at national level for the purpose of assisting certain categories of producers who have suffered particular hardship under the quota system.
All of these schemes give priority in the allocation of any available milk quota to certain persons in the categories referred to by the Deputy.
