Vol. 406 No. 3

Written Answers. - Grocery Trade Regulations.

John V. Farrelly

Question:

168 Mr. Farrelly asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce if he will confirm that as much as £30,000 has been offered by some dairies and co-ops to supermarkets for shelf space, and that this type of trading is contrary to the Fair Trade Commission regulations; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I am not in a position to confirm what the Deputy says. If the Deputy has such information he should pass it on to the Director of Consumer Affairs and Fair Trade who has responsibility for enforcing the Restrictive Practices (Groceries) Order, 1987.
