Vol. 406 No. 3

Written Answers. - Employment and Redundancy Statistics.

Bernard Allen

Question:

169 Mr. Allen asked the Minister for Industry and Commerce the number of people currently employed in Cork city; the estimated number of redundancies in the city in each of the last five years; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I do not have any direct function in the matters inquired of by the Deputy. The Central Statistics Office collate employment statistics and the Department of Labour collect redundancy figures. The IDA have information on employment in industry as part of their day to day responsibility for industrial development.
