There is no vacancy for a chief executive officer in the Mid-Western Health Board. The position is filled by the chief executive officer of the Midland Health Board who carries out the functions of chief executive officer of both health boards. This arrangement, which is working extremely well, has been made with the agreement of the chairmen of both health boards.
