Question:69 Proinsias De Rossa asked the Minister for Health when he will be in a position to announce the establishment of a national drug formulary; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The National Drugs Formulary was launched on Thursday, 21 February 1991. It was produced jointly by the Irish Medical Organisation and the Department of Health.
I am confident that the formulary will prove useful to doctors as a practical fast reference source of prescribers which will encourage rational prescribing in general practice.
