138 Mrs. T. Ahearn asked the Minister for Education if her Department will increase the subvention to five representatives of the Irish Science Teachers' Association to participate in the International Post-University Course in the University of Liege, Belgium to be held in August 1991; and if she will make a statement on the matter.
The position regarding Irish participation in the International Post University Course in the University of Liege is that normally this Department receive an offer of four places from the Belgian authorities each year. Two of these places are allocated to the Irish Science Teachers' Association and two to the Irish Mathematics Teachers' Association.
My Department give a subvention, amounting to one-third of the participants travel and subsistence expenses.
