44 Mr. S. Barrett asked the Minister for the Marine if he has investigated the possibility of obtaining funds from the EC to deal with the coastal erosion problem from Dalkey to Bray on the grounds that this is a very valuable national amenity needing urgent attention.

I am investigating and pursuing all possibilities of obtaining funds from the Community for the support of coastal protection in Ireland. At present, however, no Community funds have been made available.
