Vol. 407 No. 1

Written Answers. - Storage of Toxic Chemicals.

Tony Gregory

Question:

187 Mr. Gregory asked the Minister for Labour if toxic chemicals were stored in the Castleforbes Industrial Estate, North Wall, Dublin 1, at the time of the recent major fire; if so, the types of chemical stored; whether this was authorised; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

The matter raised by the Deputy is concerned with day-to-day activities of the National Authority for Occupational Safety and Health (NAOSH). I have notified NAOSH of the matter raised by the Deputy and requested them to investigate the incident with a general view to ensuring that the dangerous substances legislative requirements are being compiled with.
