Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Housing Regulations.

Michael Bell

Question:

170 Mr. Bell asked the Minister for the Environment the reason for the delay in issuing the regulations to housing departments of local authorities regarding the social housing programme; and if he will give details of the funds, if any, which have been allocated to (a) Louth County Council, (b) Drogheda Corporation and (c) Dundalk UDC to allow them to apply the terms of the scheme as announced by him.

In relation to the first part of the question, I refer to my adjournment statement on 18 April 1991 in response to an item raised by Deputy Allen.

The allocations for local authority house construction, remedial works and residential caravan parks for travellers were given in reply to Questions Nos. 253 and 259 of 17 April 1991.

Following are the 1991 provisional allocations for house purchase and improvement loans for the authorities referred to: Louth County Council — £300,000; Dundalk Urban District Council — £400,000; and Drogheda Corporation — £300,000. Some other allocations will be made shortly.
