169 Mr. Dukes asked the Minister for Justice whether specifications for public buildings drawn up by his Department include the installation of water conservation equipment; and if not, if he has any plans to incorporate such provisions.
Specifications drawn up for the capital programme for prisons and places of detention, which is the only building programme handled direct by my Department, provide for the installation of water conservation equipment in all appropriate areas.
The Garda building programme is managed on behalf of my Department by the Office of Public Works. Courthouses are the responsibility of either the Office of Public Works or local authorities.
