Vol. 407 No. 3

Written Answers. - Naas New Fire Station.

Bernard J. Durkan

Question:

180 Mr. Durkan asked the Minister for the Environment whether in view of the inadequate facilities at Naas Fire Station, County Kildare, he or his Department will make available the necessary funds for the implementation of programmes for the replacement of these facilities; if he will confirm that the agreements reached under the Programme for Economic and Social Progress will not in any way impede the implementation of this programme; if his attention has been drawn to the urgent need for the provision of a new fire station at Naas; and if he will make a statement on the matter.

I have asked Kildare County Council to review certain aspects of their proposal for a new fire station in Naas. The question of funding will be considered at the appropriate time.
